A purist would suggest that it’s actually too late for you now: that the “-maid” bit is supposed to be meaningful, and that a married (never mind a much-married) woman can only ever be a matron of honour, no bridesmaid any more.

Happily, I’m trying to stop with the purist thing, so you won’t hear it from me, no ma’am.

…On the other hand, why are you keeping all three of your bridal gowns? There must be a creepy Victorian novel about that…
